Midwest Martial Arts corriculum is based on a traditional style of Okinawan Karate, called Southwind Shorin Ryu. Southwind Shorin Ryu is very similar in style to Matsubayashi-ryu as the lineage is traced back to Shoshin Nagamine as well. Practitioners of Tae Kwon Do or other Karate styles will feel comfortable as Our philosophy is to practice and provide excellent martial arts in an eastern tradition of respect, discipline and humility.
